APPG Holds First Expert Advisory Panel Meeting Under New Chair to Discuss 2026 Priorities
The Access to Medicines and Medical Devices All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) recently convened a meeting of its Expert Advisory Panel to introduce the new Chair of the APPG, Danny Beales MP, and discuss the Group’s priorities for the year ahead.
The meeting brought together experts from across the healthcare, patient advocacy and life sciences sectors to share perspectives on current challenges affecting patient access to medicines and medical technologies. The conversation helped inform the APPG’s forward workplan and identify areas where parliamentary engagement could support improvements in access to innovative treatments.
The meeting explored current challenges in access to medicines and medical devices, including developments in NICE health technology assessments, the impact of Early Access Programmes (EAPs) and other ongoing challenges that hinder patient access to care.
The APPG will continue to work closely with its Expert Advisory Panel to ensure that issues around patient access to medicines and medical devices remain the core priority of the group’s activities.
The APPG will be publishing its workplan for 2026 in due course.
